This amazing organization strictly raise funds to provide mammograms for uninsured or underinsured women in Ellis County by hosting an annual luncheon in Waxahachie. Their referral service is Hope Clinic and Baylor/Waxahachie does the mammograms. In the last six years DWBCE have paid for almost 500 mammograms. The luncheon cost is underwritten by Vintage Bank, so none of the donations go to pay for that. All breast cancer survivors and one guest are free of charge at the luncheon! All the door prizes are donated, too. The Waxahachie Firefighters Assn. donates a portion of their proceeds from sale of the T-shirts as well. There are absolutely NO overhead cost for this group and all of the volunteers are either survivors themselves or the spouse of a survivor.
